JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - Telkomsel Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2019 tidak hanya menghadirkan sederetan mobil dan motor baru yang mencuri perhatian pengunjung. Tapi, mobil ikonik seperti Mazda RX-7 replika Tokyo Drift juga jadi pusat perhatian.
Mobil berwarna oranye dan hitam ini menjadi mobil yang ikonik di salah satu sekuel film Fast and Furious dengan judul "Tokyo Drift". Di film tersebut, Mazda RX-7 ini dimiliki oleh Han Seoul.
Di Tokyo Drift, basis mobil yang digunakan Han adalah Mazda RX-7 FD keluaran tahun 1997. Mobil tersebut dibekali dengan mesin Rotary 13B REW Twin Turbo.

Tampilannya jauh sekali dibandingkan dengan versi standar, karena mobil ini sudah menggunakan body kit dari Veilside Fortune. Begitu pula replika yang dihadirkan di JIExpo, Kemayoran.
Dilengkapi juga dengan Apexera Power FC engine management system, HKS TO42 turbo kit, V-mounted intercooler, dan Veilside custom intercooler piping. Lalu untuk menyempurnakannya, Mazda RX-7 tersebut mengandalkan NKG racing spark plugs.
Selain bodi dan mesin digarap oleh Veilside, mobil aslinya juga mengandalkan pelek Veilside 19 inci yang dikombinasikan dengan ban Pirelli P Zero. Suspensi dan sistem pengereman dilengkapi dengan Apexera N1 damper dan Rotora brake system.

Darius, sang pemilik mobil, mengaku sengaja membangun replika Mazda RX-7 tersebut karena menilai mobil tersebut yang paling ikonik.
"Mobil ini terakhir dikerjakan oleh Kupu-kupu Malam. Tapi, proses bangun mobil ini dari nol hingga sekarang sebenarnya memakan waktu hingga delapan tahun," jelas Darius, kepada Kompas.com, Kamis (2/5/2019).
